So this weekend was a pretty epic event. I was fortunate enough to meet the peeps who put on the majority of the shows I go to. It was a very surreal moment talking with people who get as excited about live music as I do.
Keep an eye out for me! I will be the person drinking a beer!
What I have been cracking out to lately.
I AM REALLY digging this album! Give it a listen if you get time
I was lucky to have seen the Cloud Nothings on 11/13/2017 in Dallas Texas at Club Dada. They are currently touring supporting their 2017 album "Life Without Sound" which is my top 3 favorite album this year. They sounded fantastic and had a great energy to them. After the show I was speaking with Guitarist Chris Brown and Bassist TJ Duke outside of the venue. I had asked if I could take a photo of them for my site and they had agreed. Shortly TJ left while I was speaking with Chris. I felt bad because I figured I ran TJ off by asking for a photo with them in their free time. But roughly five minutes after he came back with the rest of the band (Dylan Baldi and Jayson Gerycz) I was absolutely shocked they were taking time out for a simple photo for me. I meet a lot of bands but rarely have I had the pleasure of such a great conversation and shown so much respect for simply being a fan of a band. I hope the best for them on the road!
I already had a ticket to see him in Memphis and didn't realize he had anything new coming out so this is an awesome surprise!
If you are into jazz check this dude out!
While in Germany I visited an amazing music venue "Mila" located in Munich. The first artist of the night was an Australian woman that plays by the name of "Birthh" She was pretty bad ass to watch live. Check out her album below.
Sour Ale Aged on Cherries! Really tasty...
How does the man on the moon cut his hair?
Right now there are two tracks released from the upcoming album TFCF from Liars. Track "Coins in my caged fist" is bad ass and worth checking out.
This years Warped Tour had artwork from my favorite comic book company Valiant Comics. I decided to drive 5 and a half hours to get some free swag at their booth since they have not been at any comic conventions in the south yet. The comic book store they were working with in Dallas bailed the last moment and they didn't have a booth so I was super upset! Towards the end of the festival I ran into a guy wearing a Valiant T-Shirt and it was Atom! Freeman the Sales Manager for Valiant Comics. He was a super cool dude and gave me a big ass bag of Valiant loot. It was so much fun nerding it out with him for about 30-40 minutes about the direction Valiant is taking.
The Warped Tour was actually rather fun. Don't get me wrong, there were a lot of really terrible bands but there were some gems in there that made the experience very much worth going to. T.S.O.L., Watsky, Fire From the Gods, Futuristic, Valient Thorr, Hundredth, and several others made the 45 dollar entry fee worth it even before I got about 100 dollars of Valiant swag.
After all the shows I have seen I wish someone told me to do so 20 so years ago. You aren't less metal and will be happy you did.
:Edit: also don't let them make fun of you wearing comfortable things hahahah. Someone commented about my sockless cushie hippy shoes lol....
Hay I'm old fuck off
So I was in a hurry to get on the road for a 5 and a half hour drive to Dallas Texas to see Rammstein tonight and I forgot all of my clothing and other toiletries. The only things that I had brought with me was my camera, concert ticket, and laptop so I can log in to work tomorrow from my AirBnB rental. WHICH, the people at the place I am staying are super cool so far. They speak little English and I speak no Spanish but so far so good. We do a lot of nodding I have found. I am getting my drink on with some Guinness Foreign Extra. I have drank barrels and barrels of Guinness but have not had this before. It is quite delightful!
I am hoping to get some decent photos today. Rammstein is a HUGE band and I am sitting out in the 85 dollar a ticket section so its pretty far back there at the Starplex Pavilion. I am staying another night and an option for a show to see is Boston with Joan Jett. Not saying that is not a fun line up but want to make sure there are not any other bands at Trees, Three Links, or Club DaDa tomorrow night.
in•ter a•li•a - The main talking point you will hear about this album is that it is the first album from ATDI in 17 years. The second talking point you will read in most reviews is that it is not as great as their last album "relationship of command". If you look at the musicians resumes you would be blown away that collectively they have released about 40+ albums since then (mostly thanks to Omar Rodriguez-Lopez who released 17 or so this year)
17 years ago they broke up into The Mars Volta and Sparta (who I was lucky to see two time and they were great)
Anyhow this new album is fantastic to me. After about 20 listens I absolutely love this album and cannot wait to see them in Oklahoma!
EDIT:// The show has been canceled. :( I have already been refunded back on my ticket purchase at least. REALLY was looking forward to that show too! It was going to happen this coming up Tuesday .
There are a lot of neat bands to check out this weekend in Little Rock. The acts that I am looking forward to the most at this time are Tank & The Bangas, JOAN, Brother Moses, and Morris Day & the Time. I have seen the majority of the headlining bands but highly recommend checking out Seratones live. They have a lot of energy and are a lot of fun. I will be posting photos from each night of the festival.

Feist - Pleasure
Grab you some tea then look out the window on a rainy day while this album is on and it syncs up just like Pink Floyd and the Wizard of Oz. Fantastic as always Leslie Feist (I am pretty sure she is reading this)
Future Islands - The Far Field
A regret of mine is missing these guys when they came by Little Rock Arkansas a while back. From start to finish a really great album.
